Love That Red

Everything You Need to Know

Save Your Winter Skin Sins

Ugg the dreaded ‘winter skin’; think flakey, dry, parched and dehydrated. Pale, washed out, forlorn and neglected. Hidden beneath an abundance of cute cardigans, silky scarves, and tailored trousers.

Well you will oh-em-gee over the ease of combat with this simple 5-step ‘Save Your Skin Sins’ routine, which will have your skin glowing and vital in no time!

Step 1…

Prior to your shower practice some dry body-brushing, a technique raved about by celebs and skin experts with good reason; slough away all your dead skin cells to reveal that sought after soft and smooth skin. I recommend The Body Shop Cactus Brush ($22.95); a long-handled wooden brush with soft cactus bristles to massage and exfoliate the skin, remove dead skin cells and stimulate blood circulation. Start from your feet and work your way up towards your heart using short sweeping motions. Oh and added benefits include a decrease in in-grown hairs and any body acne you may be prone to. Clever thing.

Step 2…

Now that your under that glorious spray of warmth (REMEMBER: Not to HOT! It dehydrates your skin further and can rupture capillary’s, which gives a horrid ‘red look’ to your complexion) its time to up-the-scrubbing-ante with a ‘wet use’ body scrub. I love the Shisedo Body Creator Aromatic Salt Scrub ($52) for its exceptional exfoliating benefits and mineral-rich formula. Say hello to skin that is left feeling massaged, sleek and refined.

Step 3…

So now it is time to actually WASH your skin you dirty, dirty girls and I’m in love with Dove’s Triple Moisturising Deeply Nourishing Body Wash ($12.99 for a MASSIVE bottle). Featuring a breakthrough blend of moisturisers enriched with the skins natural lipids that can deeply absorb within the skin’s surface to nourish deep down whilst you shower. It leaves skin feeling soft and supple. This rich creamy bath babe adds a touch of pampering nourishment that a silly old stick of soap JUST won’t provide.

Step 4…

Ok so now it’s time to get that cute butt out of the shower. Yes I know it’s bloody cold. But on the bright side no pancake nipples! Time to oil yourself up with Johnson’s® Baby Oil ($5.49), which contains moisturising pure Aloe Vera and nourishing Vitamin E. Use AS SOON AS YOU TURN OF THE SHOWER! Your pores are open and your skin will absorb the oil better. Oh and don’t even think about washing or wiping it off. Simply pat your skin dry with your towel and press the oils into that hot bod.

Step 5…

Now it is ALMOST time to get into your boyfriends fave look; the flannos. ALMOST. First, get that butt near a heater STAT and start applying a moisturiser liberally. I’m totes in love with the kinda new L’Occitane Shea Ultra Rich Body Cream ($59.95) because it actually feels like it is super rich and nourishing. Let the thick, velvety texture melt into your skin while you bask in the sweetly innocent smells of Shea. Love.
