La Prairie Cellular Eye Cream Platinum Rare

If you’ve been privy to any of my skincare posts before, you know how much I despise eye wrinkles like crows feet *shudder*… Soooo it should be no surprise that this little gem is on my list of must-haves as it’s one of the best eye creams on the current market. It brightens & tightens skin tissue while decelerating ageing by enabling ageing skin to reflect light in the same manner as young skin. The formula contains soft focus diamond core powder to reduce the appearance of lines & wrinkles (while also lending a subtle sheen). The illuminating effect is enhanced by a dual peptide complex that helps eliminate dark circles under the eyes by strengthening the skin’s support system by activating the skin’s own elimination system. The tightening effect comes from the natural tensing action of polysaccharide & acacia gum that forms an invisible mesh on the skin surface to produce an immediate lift and visibly decrease wrinkle depth. Wax helps prevent the adipocytes reducing the feeling of puffiness under the eyes. This is enhanced by caffeine which aids the removal of excess toxins. $490 1800 251 010

Sisley Phyto Mascara Ultra Stretch

The BEST mascara I have ever used (big call I know), this is my go-to product for day wear in ‘Deep Brown’. It defines, curls & lengthens lashes with a single flick. She Walks In Beauty

She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that’s best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes;
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o’er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express,
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.

And on that cheek, and o’er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

Beauty Review: Max Factor Makeup

I was recently lucky enough to enjoy a makeup master class with Max Factors head of makeup artistry, Liz Kelsh.

Lovely & SUCH A Babe

It was here that I learnt just how to obtain some of the key looks used at the recent MBFWA and also a few tips on my own personal grooming. (One look at me and she asked if I ‘always wore such dark foundation’… :o) Whoops! I had thought it was pretty much on par with my skin tone!

The Makeup Masterclass

What I learnt…

Foundation

‘Foundation is like a bra, women are always wearing the wrong one’ – Liz Kelsh

The lovely Liz expertly chose me a foundation shade in the delightful ‘Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion Foundation’ (I was ‘natural’ btw, wayyyyy lighter than what I would have thought!)

What Max Factor says about the prod…

With a unique lightweight solid to liquid formula it removes the need for the traditional concealer, foundation and powder combination and instead creates the perfect base in just one easy application. The result is a flawless, fresh and incredibly smooth complexion that glows with radiance.

Tips from Liz…

Using the supplied spongy thing (which I rec washing a few times per week in order to lower the risk of spreading bacteria), apply liberally over your t-zone before smoothing excess out towards the sides of your face. Use short sweeping motions and use your fingers to blend the colour evenly. Dab extra product under the eyes and over any other problem area to build the coverage rather than adding a concealer.

Liz also suggests applying a few shades of foundation to your jaw line when choosing your correct colour. The one that is least visible is your correct shade. Wearing a darker shade will not make you look tan, it will only cause a ‘mask’ effect. If you want a bronze glow then use a bronzer!

What I thought…

At the time of the event my skin was in horrific condition and we were also in white lighting so I didn’t think it had enough coverage for me. Now it’s my daily staple! I love how light and natural it is and it smoothes out my complexion without looking like I’m wearing foundation the way I usually do. Dang it, she was right! I AM a lot paler than I thought!

Blush

Blush is used to add colour and dimension to our face. A blank canvas is always dull, no matter the subject matter. I usually choose really girly pretty pinks for blush so I was a touch apprehensive when Liz chose ‘Mulberry’, a colour I would have usually deemed ‘Nana-ish’.

What Max Factor says…

This sheer, soft blusher blends easily into your skin leaving a hint of colour that completes any make-up look. Use Max Factor Flawless Perfection Blush to define your cheekbones or simply let the luxurious and soft texture freshen your complexion.

Tips from Liz…

Blow the excess powder from the blusher brush before gently dusting upwards over your cheekbones. Blush should always look natural!

What I thought…

Well. Yet again she knew best as I am LOVING this whole grown-up, natural thing that’s going on with my normally barbie-ish mug.

Eyes

We used 3 products on my peepers; Liquid Effect Pencil in ‘Black Fire’, Masterpiece Colour Precision Eyeshadow in ‘Pearl Beige’, and False Lash Effect Black Mascara.

What Max Factor says…

For liquid-like intensity and long lasting colour try Liquid Effect Pencil Eyeliner and get expert precision in an easy to apply pencil. The intense finish and depth of colour of this new eye pencil gives the dramatic framing and definition you would expect from a liquid liner. Use the smart smudging tip on the end of the pencil to blend the liner slightly and take your look from day to night in one simple stroke!

New Masterpiece Colour Precision Eyeshadow is the ultimate way to precisely defined eyes. As part of the Masterpiece Collection it comes straight from the kits of top catwalk make-up artists and is available in a range of must-have shades. Immaculate eyeshadow just got a whole lot easier.

New False Lash Effect Mascara doubles your lash size with the impact of false lashes without the fuss. It is this season’s make up artist must have. The secret is in the lash boosting combination of Max Factor’s biggest brush ever combined with patented Liquid LashTM technology. Now with every volumising coat the big brush sweeps right to the tips giving your lashes fullness and head turning attitude.

What Liz thinks…

The eyeliner is her ‘must-have’ and she is absolutely obsessed with it. With a bit a practice she says that everyone can do a smokey eye, winged eye or even just a sexy smudged eye. Liz is adamant that every woman NEEDS this in her beauty bag and the woman is a genius so… listen.

What I think…

Although the eyeliner is amazing, I royally f-ed it up the first time I tried to sharpen it 😦 This makes me sad as I was in LOVE.  Liz taught me to apply the eyeshadow only to my inner eye ‘v’ to make the eyeliner stand out more and my eyes to pop. This eyeshadow is super pretty (albeit not very practical for daywear) and you can also use it to highlight your cheekbones, however pat in quickly as once it sets it won’t move (which is awesome for your eyelids but not so much your cheeks). The mascara is lovely, and one of the better ‘false lash’ mascaras on the market. If you are after mascara that gives your lashes oomph and volume, then forgo this bad boy as although he is a gem at lengthening and finding the white strays he fails to plump them out. I actually like this as I hate lash thickness and potential glugs but most gals like a bit of volume with their length so keep this in mind.

Lips

As a lipstick bag was passed around, we were asked to select whatever colour we liked. Obviously I choose red 🙂 BRIGHT red! Every time I’ve worn it since I’ve gotten compliments from peeps, ‘really suits you’ etc so if you have similar colouring to me take note!

What Max Factor says…

For instant fabulous colour and smoother, softer lips overtime look no further than Max Factor’s new Colour Elixir Lipstick. The Elixir formula contains a 60% blend of skin emollients, conditioners and antioxidants including vitamin E, for a visible transformation in the look and feel of your lips in just 7-days. As you apply the Colour Elixir Lipstick, it actively moisturises and smoothes lips. Enjoy rich and gorgeous looking colour on smooth beautiful lips

What Liz says…

Luscious lips are an iconic, classic look, and keeping your lips in good condition is key! Lips are more prone to drying than regular skin and a good lip care regime is the starting point for any great lip colour look…

What I thought…

Lovely, LOVELY colour. Team with big curls and a LBD for instant classic chic.

Finished Look – please excuse my boofy mane & weird looking smile

Indulge Yourself: Relax, Unwind & Rejuvenate

Many of us have been looking forward to this long weekend for WEEKS! SO LETS RELAX! YES?! Some people like to drink, some like to stuff so much food down their gullets they need to be rolled home, some like to engage in light bondage and special cuddles, and some like to sit zombie-like in front of the TV with one leg slung over the arm rest in a very attractive manner. Now although I enjoy all of these things on occasion, my way to relax and unwind is by immersing myself in water. Get rid of the old ‘Lavender is for Nanna’ perception and jump on the train to Haute-Provence! Well don’t actually do that unless you have the cash, I havent been there either but I hear it’s quite nice. Anyway the reason behind the above usless rambling is that this divine bubble bath is made with the finest quality organic A.O.C lavender essential oils, which actually COME from Haute-Provence where it is grown exclusively for L’Occitane products. This bad boy is a firecracker in the tub and boasts a rich formula that generously foams in the tub and offers all the relaxing benefits of lavender (reduces anxiety, eases stress and promotes a good nights sleep). Spend: Galapagos – Kaffir Lime & Cocoa Butter Triple Scented Candle

Glasshouse Galapagos Kaffir Lime & Cocoa Butter Triple Scented Candle is my all-time faveourite candle. I have a serious addiction to it. Seriously, sometimes I can be found perched somewhere with my nose just shoved in it as I continuously inhale (obviously at this point in time it isn’t lit). Since my Galapagos foray begun I’ve also become obsessed with the soap and hand cream so I am continuously confronted with its delightful odor. (Why does the word odor sound gross even though it’s just another word for fragrance?) Featuring a blend of lemons, verbena and kumquats, the energizing aroma is rejuvenating and will enliven your senses. FAVE CANDLE.

Oh and 80-hour burn time. Damn straight.

RRP $39.95. Available at David Jones, Peter Alexander and selected gift stores nationally.

Splurge: Chameli

This candle screams sensuality with all of its spicy and sultry undertones. The Sundari Chameli is a) a sexy little minx and b) predominately floral, with hints of jasmine and lotus flowers, mixed with lemongrass and cinnamon. Enticing right!?

Hair Masks

Coat those locks with one of these hair gems and feel the difference between lank and lush…

Save: Pantene 3 Minute Miracle – Single Ampoule

Despite the flack it’s received over the years, I love Pantene. I don’t give a rats ass that it apparently ‘isn’t very good for your hair’ pft. Pantene 3 Minute Miracle is, to put it simply, amaze. It really does leave your hair looking 100,000,000 times better as it’s enriched with a pro-vitamin formula to repair damaged hair QUICK! You should all try this one if you haven’t already and I mean what have you got to lose? The price of a few measly stamps?

RRP $2.99. Available at all leading retailers.

Spend: De Lorenzo Essential Treatments Equilibrium

Everyone who knows the slightest bit about beauty (AKA knows the difference between dry shampoo and baby powder) has some sort of an understanding on the effectiveness of rosehip oil. In effect, it is one of the greatest things ever. Besides Caramel Space Sticks apparently. The organic rosehip oil formulated in this masque, along with oat peptides, and vitamins A & C, give your locks the deep treatment they deserve.

RRP $29.95. http://www.delorenzo.com.au.

Splurge: Moroccanoil Restorative Hair Mask

Moroccanoil literally saved my hair. Seriously. A serial offender in low hair care maintenance, I am a walking ad for split ends and damaged hair in general. Until I coat my mug with this bad boy. That’s right people, this rich, creamy treatment formulated with proteins repairs my damaged hair ridiculously while providing an intense moisture boost. The technical jargon boasts that this mask penetrates deep into the hair shaft to help restore elasticity and rebuild damage caused by chemical and other environmental damage, and you know what? I believe em!

Quick Tip: For intense and immediate results, apply after shampooing and leave on overnight. Caution: Please put towel on pillow and tossers OR turners need not apply. To much effort for all that extra washing.

RRP $49.95. Call 1300 437 436 for your nearest stockist.

Face Mask

Treat your parched face by massaging one of these into your attention seeking pores…

Save: The Body Shop Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask

This is the answer to any gal suffering from enlarged pores, acne or oily skin. I am one of them. Clay masks are uber effective at drawing impurities from deep in the skin while removing excess oil and bacteria. This treatment mask has algae extracts, natural ionic clay action, and is enriched with minerals (magnesium, iron and calcium). To use, apply to clean, dry skin once or twice a week. Leave to dry for up to ten minutes, then remove, with a sponge and clean water.

RRP $26.95. Available at he Body Shop retail stores or online at www.thebodyshop.com.au.

Spend: SK-II Facial Treatment Mask

Look closely in the mirror. Now push your cheek fat up towards your eyes. See that crepe paper effect? That’s dehydration bitches and there’s a super quick and easy fix. This is the moisture-boosting mask used and recommended by beauty editors all over the world. And they know their shit. It DEEPLY hydrates the skin, just like a professional facial, leaving skin radiant and crystal clear. Many brides-to-be or vain (raising hand) girls in general use this before their ‘big day’ (or night out), as it gives an instantly flawless and bright complexion as the perfect makeup base. 🙂 LOVE.

RRP $28/$140 Single/6 Pack. Available at selected David Jones and Myer store.

Splurge: La Prairie Cellular 3 Minute Peel

For instant gratification AKA vanity seeking in the mirror, you CAN’T look further than this magicians mask. Seriously, after application it looks like someone has waved a magic wand over your mug wiping out all the fine lines. The 3-Minute Peel works to re-invent the skins surface, helping to reveal a youthful firmness and a radiant and flawless finish (which it does to dramatic effect). The fast-acting formula is filled with concentrated exfoliants to help speed up cell renewal, and helps to shrink the appearance of pores, improve elasticity, hydrate skin and protect against moisture loss. Go on, spoil your face.

Quick Tip: Recommended to be used only once a week so this jar should last you yonks.

RRP $300. Available at selected David Jones and beauty salons nationally.

Cream

Slather your (probably prune-like) body with a luxe moisturising cream in an exquisite aroma. This will nourish your skin and smell simply delectable to all those around you as they catch whiffs of your subtly scented (AND silky smooth) skin…

Save: MOR Dolce Hand & Body Lotion in Pomegranate

I’m not usually a huge fan of lotions as they aren’t rich enough for me. When I say slather I MEAN slather, like, you really need to work that cream into your skin. However, this lotion is just unbeatable for price and perfume alone, I’m pretty smitten. The formula features a fragrance of violet, jasmine, pomegranate, sweet raspberry, black currant and sweet musk. It includes castor seed oil leaving skin soft to touch and smelling sweet. Presented in a handy pump, the product is not tested on animals and is made in Australia.

RRP $15. Exclusive to Target.

Spend: L’Occitane Shea Limited Edition Ultra Rich Body Cream ‘Desert Rose’

One thing that really annoys me about L’Occitane is the constant stream of ‘limited edition’ products or continuous ‘discontinued’ product lines. GRRRRR. I DESPISE loving something that won’t be around for long! SO, this is a perfect example. An exceptional body cream and a tortuously delicious scent. I applied this before bed last week and every time I rolled around I got a whiff of myself. One word – YUM. The 25% PURE shea butter prod envelopes skin in comfort and softness and there just isn’t enough words to describe how much I love it. Tip: Buy a few, you can currently get 2 for $50 so stock up while the bloody things are in stock.

$32 Please call 02 8912 3000 for stockists.

Splurge: Crabtree & Evelyn Lily Body Cream

Lilies are my fave flower. (Useless information for you all for the day.) And one would assume that this prod smells like lilies…WELL it doesn’t! That said it is still as pretty as this glorious Saturday. With extracts of peony, white magnolia and elderflower, this conditioning body cream glides on easily leaving skin soft and scented. Contains a rich blend of shea butter (YES) and rosehip and evening primrose oils (WINNING) rich in fatty acids. Grapeseed, jojoba and wheat germ oils moisturise dry skin.

RRP $44. Avaialble at selected pharmacies and department stores nationwide.

Top Five Book Suggestions…

A bath would just be a bath without something to occupy us right? After all, women are the queens of muti-tasking! So make it a GREAT bath by flicking through one of these (recently read so I can vouch for them) awesome books…

  1. The Hunger Games. By Suzanne Collins. Go on, you secretly want to jump on the bandwagon admit it! Generally there is hype about something for a reason so please don’t listen to the haters. 🙂
  2. Fifty Shades Of Grey. By E L James. Soooooooo this book is pretty intense. The sex I should say anyway. But all in all it’s pure indulgent trash. Just think of a long-winded ‘mills & boon’ and you have the basic idea of this in-demand novel, with a few added doses of angry sex and major themes of dominance/submission. Why you should read it? Some parts are pretty darn hot. Like the first elevator ‘incident’…. WOWZA.
  3. The Patchwork Marriage. By Jane Green. If you haven’t read a Jane Green novel before you probably should. Like ASAP really as she’s pretty amazeballs. Now, although this book wasn’t her best (personal fave being Bookends or The Other Woman), it was still a mighty fine chick-lit read with strong lessons interwoven into the ‘patchwork’ of the storyline. Perfect bath read.
  4. The Younger Man. By Zoe Foster. Zoe has done it again and her writing just seems to get better and better! This is light-hearted reading at it’s best with some seriously funny one-liners interjected. I actually LOL-ed a few to many times much to the annoyance of anyone arround me. The only thing I didn’t like (and please if anyone else felt the same speak up) was a touch of dislike towards the central character. I found her to be a bit of a winge and, quite frankly, a self-indulgent bitch at times. But Marcus? Wow. You can woo me anytime babe.
  5. The Fault In Our Stars. By John Green. This book was beyond moving with its subject matters primary narration bring that of death as she (and those around her in her cancer support group) are dying. Beautifully written, I was captivated by this gorgeous story of life and death and all the silly inconsequential things in between. Trust me, after reading this you’ll think twice before complaining about having stretch marks in your 20’s. At least you made it to your 20’s! This is DEFINITELY my top pick from the 5. Read it now please.

Enjoy xx

Skincare Ingredient Secrets: Angelica

For many of us mere mortals, looking at the ingredients list on a prod box is like trying to work out codes in the matrix. What we are wanting to slather on our mugs reads like a science experiment gone awry. And most of us failed chemistry, yes? So it is no surprise that we slather and smear ourselves with formulations we have NO IDEA about. And the cheeky buggers in marketing spin different words and label certain ingredients with terms like ‘patented’ and ‘miracle’ and ‘award winning’. It generally succeeds in encouraging us to part with our hard-earned dosh which is silly if we have no idea what is in it. For all you know you could be paying for glorified sorbolene. So that’s where I come in. Over the next few weeks I’m going to give you a few lessons in ‘skincare ingredient secrets’ that will make you a much smarter and savvier skincare shopper.

Lesson One: Angelica. My fave new source of hydration.

The Angelica flower hails from Provence, France, and boasts a unique relationship with water. The Angelica plant draws water from deep in the ground to hydrate itself, growing to improbable heights with this hidden talent. Once blended into beauty formulations, the Angelica plant activates the aquaporins, or water channels within the skin. Products with Angelica water, extract or essential oils are perfect for anyone with dry, dull and dehydrated skin; bringing a youthful, hydrated glow to even the sallowest of complexions.

My fave ‘Angelica’ prodz…

This recovery shampoo is perfect for fine, dry or broken coloured hair. (Could be an ad description for my hair if we replaced fine with boofy.) I’ve been in love with the KEVIN.MURPHY ANGEL.WASH since I saw the man himself using it on models backstage at RAFW; the models hair had so much crap and prod residue in their hair that they needed a good shampooing before he worked his magic. Enter ANGEL.WASH. It cleanses the hair without stripping the colours or natural oils resulting in clean and silky locks you’ll fall in love with. Angelica root extract keeps the strands hydrated whilst the essential oil of grapefruit does a cleaning job Nan would be proud of. ($29.95 Available at selected hair salons nationally.)

My Thoughts…

Left my hair feeling soft and without that horrendous ‘squeaky’ feeling so many shampoos seem to deem appropriate to leave on my head. I love massaging it deep into the roots as it prolongs my need to wash for a few extra days.

Here is a quick way to test the hydration levels of your skin. Between your thumb and your forefinger push the skin on the apples of your cheeks together. Do you get a crêpey almost papery look to the area? Yep you like the majority of everyone else suffer from DEHYDRATED not DRY skin. And the result is a sallow complexion without the warmth and radiance we so desperately wish to obtain.  Say hello to your new bestie; L’Occitane Angelica Hydration Cream, a gem that has only JUST been released to the Australian market. Provides long-lasting hydration and leaves a fresh and silky face thanks to the main ingredients of angelica water (found in the plants roots) and angelica essential oil.

My Thoughts…

Love.

Love.

Love.

At first I turned my nose up at this baby due to it having a rather noticeable ‘green’ (aka grassy) scent. Not my cup of tea. However after reluctantly trying it I realised the scent was gone in seconds due to the fast absorbing and non-greasy BRILLIANT formula. Leaves my skin feeling smooth and supple whilst creating a hydrated base for me to work with each day. For me, another added bonus is that it doesn’t clog my pores and create pesky pimples as plenty of rich creams on the market tend to.

Keep this divine hand and body wash in your own private bathroom because the delicious scent will have your whole household pumping for more. MOR Classic Collection Hand & Body Wash – Snow Gardenia has a gentle formula and is suitable for use on sensitive skin. The formula is enriched with refreshing aloe, angelica and chamomile to leave skin feeling soft, and features fragrant notes of gardenia, juniper berry, ylang ylang, vanilla and sandalwood to linger on the skin. Angelica, a key ingredient, keeps the wash from being to drying and helps keep the delicate skin nourished. ($29.95 Available from most major department stores and selected pharmacies nationwide.)

Bless Bobbi Brown and her clever concoctions. The Bobbi Brown Extra Repair Foundation SPF 25 is a moisturising treatment foundation that combines the intensive skin nourishing benefits with daily sun protection. The super emollient formula gives skin a fresh, dewy and healthy looking glow and also helps undo the visible signs of ageing by smoothing out lines, while firming and lifting skin’s appearance. The foundation contains sodium hyaluronate, glycerin, willowherb and evening primrose oils to deeply moisturise and condition skin. Shea and muru muru butters strengthen skin’s natural barrier, improving its ability to lock in moisture and prevent future damage. It also includes angelica and chamomile to calm and soothe, vitamin E to protect against free radicals and treated pigments to deliver natural-looking medium to full coverage that lasts without settling into liner or pores. A truly genius product. ($132 Available from David Jones.)

Lalisse Anti-Spot Skin Serum No.2 provides deep penetration to help treat cystic and hormonal acne. (Big bumps under the skin that generally sit on your chin and jaw line.) It works to improve circulation, clear pores and help boost the body’s natural defenses. It contains apricot, peach and gingko seed extracts to kill off the infection; together with angelica and sanchi root extract to keep the area hydrated. The best thing is that this serum kills the suckers without drying out the skin. Nothing worse than a flaky looking zit hanging off your chin. ($22.95 http://www.lalisse.com/acneno2.html)

L’Occitane Repairing Mask: Turn That Head Of Hair From Drab To Fab!

I am one of those girls who has spent most of her life severely struggling with unruly locks. My hair is not and never has been naturally glossy and bouncy and smooth. It is big, neither curly NOR straight, fluffy, fly-away-y, frizzy and a downright pest. My friends refer to me as the nutty professor because more often than not it can be found piled in a big heap chic top-knot on my head with bits flying every which way. GRRRRR.
Neways, I recently came across this little gem of a hair prod and am so smitten with him that if anyone tried to snatch him from me I would release my fists of fury. And they are quite bony and pointy and could defs do some damage so mitts off. Go buy your own – actually you seriously should and here’s why…..

Well first up his PROPER name is the L’Occitane Aromachology Repairing Mask for Dry & Damaged Hair and he retails for $34.95 which is MUCH cheaper than the salon alternatives which is the only other time I’ve ever had such a FAB result from one hair prod.
I have been smoothing a fair portion (hey I’ve got a whole hell of a lotta hair) onto my mug weekly before leaving it for about 5 mins, and it is AH-MAZ-ING. It feels (sorry to be so corny and cliché) SO soft and SO silky afterwards and smells just divine. Say hello to nourished and deeply restored locks as the formula weasels its way into the hairs capillary’s locking in moisture and all sorts of goodness. Free from parabens, SLES, synthetic colorants, formol or formaldehyde, animal ingredients, triclosan and BHA – yeah boi.

Trend Alert: Team Tortoiseshell Glasses With Red Lips NOW!

I just love this sophisticated look that boasts an air of intelligence and sex appeal. Get the look by pairing oversized tortoise-shell glasses with a bright red lip before sitting back and waiting for the heads to start turning…(well hopefully).

The Glasses

Save – Grab a pair from most chain stores, the markets, or even just pop the lenses out of some sunglasses. As the ‘indie’ trend is as popular as ever, most stores have an influx of styles you can choose from for less than $20. Nice.

Spend – These Jasper Conran specs are too cute and too on-trend. These are the ones I am sporting above and I am loving the contrast between the lightness of my hair with the bright lips and brownish frames. Available at Specsavers, these bad boys will set you back $299.

Splurge – A designer pair of glasses will up the style factor even further with a chic logo subtly spotted on the side of the frames. These Chanel beauties are so classic and chic, and the colour suits most skin tones and hair shades. Available from most Chanel stockists, POA.

The Lips…

Save – Look no further than the most classic of all brands and the most classic of all shades Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick ‘Fire & Ice’ ($21.95). This is one of my all-time favourite beauty products and the colour is so spot on for my colouring (take note fair-skinned gals with blonde hair and blue eyes) and the formula is HEAVILY pigmented and cleverly stays on all day. Big hugs for this fellow.

Spend – As seen on moi in the above pics, L’Oreal Colour Riche Made For Me Intense ‘Red Passion 297’ ($25.95) is an intense shade, specifically made for the bevy of blondes around. That said, my beautiful brunette girlfriend looks absolutely smashing in said shade sooooooo really all girls can apply 🙂 OH AND its super lustrous and makes my lips feel nourished all day!

Splurge – Napoleon Perdis Goddess Lipstick ‘Xenia’ ($35) is a hot pick for many a business woman as it is strong and bold and alludes to their inner sex goddess (whether they want it to or not). I just love this prod and rec using a lip liner brush to really build up the colour and intensity. Start on the outer corners and gently work into the bow areas to achieve a fuller pout.

Conceal It

Unfortunately most of us mere mortals do not look like this…

Without the help of  mans greatest invention – the concealer. A little pot or cheeky stick intent on covering the nastiest of skin imperfections with a simple swab or slick. It’s generally the first makeup item a gal will obtain, Mums finally given in and provided their suffering daughters with something to cover cute (actually there is nothing cute about them) pimples; it’s the one prod that keeps us looking half alive during lectures in our party hard years; and it is generally the last product a woman will vainly apply every day as she covers years of smiles and laughs and wise words.

Yep that’s our baby; Mr. Concealer bless you and your little cute compact you come dressed in. How you save us every day. Here are my faves for diff conceal-urgencies…

Cover those nasty zits AND simultaneously kill the suckers with Dr LeWinns Medic Anti Blemish Concealer – The epitome of killing 2 birds with one … well squirt. The formula, which contains active botanicals, effectively provides coverage, moisturisation and zit-zappers all at once. ($19.95)

Make those sad/tired/bad genetic driven peepers BRIGHT & LIGHT by reducing your dark circles appearance to a lovely 0%. Entire YSL Touché Éclat– Radiant Touch; an instant complexion highlighter who is a terribly clever fellow who does his job so well that he brings home more than bread and butter. Banish the drab dullness from those sparkling peeps ASAP! ($75)

Tanned or pasty? Who cares – one prod fits all. Napoleon Perdis Patrol Conceal It; a Kelly Lee Love who sits perched merrily at the top of the ‘Skin’ box just waiting for his owners greedy hands to dip her fingers into him. (I lie I prod him with a concealer brush – DUH! 🙂 ) The concealer duo combines two formulas and two shades, giving the ultimate control for fighting flaws or imperfections. It targets dehydration zones while the powder concealer spot checks for a flawless finish. ($35)

Cover and conceal those rotten imperfections when an average prod just won’t perform. Try Bobbi Brown’s Creamy Concealer Corrector; IDEAL for dark circles, acne scarring and deep pigmentation. ($46)

Mineral makeup lovers will LOVE the Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics Ultimate Concealer. It has a gorgeous rich, creamy, mineral formula that gives a sheer to heavy coverage while still looking silky and natural. I am in love with the almost velvety finish. ($49.95)
